LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2015) – Large rooms with private bathrooms. Twenty-four hour, seven-day-a-week nursing. Outdoor patio. Spa room. Personalized care plans in a home-like environment. A staff devoted to the daily successes of residents with early to mid-stages of dementia.katella-logo

That’s life at the 19-residence Pearl Garden memory care community, celebrating its Grand Opening Celebration Thursday, Dec. 3, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Now offering memory care as well as independent living and assisted living, residents will have the opportunity to “age in place” at Katella as their health care needs change. The Medical Director and Director of Nursing and other staff recognize the value of each individual and help residents live dignified, well-rounded lives through personal pursuits and social activities.

Our caregivers working in memory care receive dementia and Alzheimer’s training and ongoing in-service continuing education to recognize and meet the residents’ specialized medical and emotional needs.

“We are excited to announce this extension of our offerings at Katella,” said Michele Ortiz, executive director of Katella Senior Living. “Our goal is to help families who struggle with balancing their lives while being caregivers. Pearls of Life is an innovative philosophy, enabling us to provide personalized care plans in a home-like environment. We look forward to focusing on the residents’ daily successes and new experiences.”

Katella is dedicated to providing exceptional service to residents through an unwavering daily commitment to its Platinum Service program. It is the community’s promise to each of its residents, families and everyone they serve to provide the highest quality service on a legendary scale. Katella will remain sensitive to the changing facets of dementia while also incorporating each resident’s life story, interests and preferences into a unique support plan.

“By engaging the residents daily in enriching activities that stimulate their senses, we are bringing about a better quality of life to our residents, while bringing peace and comfort to their families,” said Ashley Schulz, director of marketing for Katella Senior Living. “We all receive hands-on training in memory care so that families can rest assured that their loved ones are receiving the best care possible. We feel blessed to be able to help them through this journey.”

Supported by the close proximity of health services, Katella residents are assured quick and ready care at any level. On the same campus is Alamitos West Health Care Center, also managed by The Goodman Group, providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. The full-service Los Alamitos Medical Center is located across the street.

Katella is located at 3952 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos. The community is approximately 10 miles northeast of Long Beach.
