The Plaza at The Palms of Largo – Now Open

LARGO, Fla. – Oct. 19, 2012 – More than 500 guests attended The Plaza’s Grand Opening Celebration held on Saturday, October 13, 2012. The celebration started with a parade down Avenue of the Palms lead by the Largo High School Marching Band. The Pinellas County Veterans Council Military Honor Guard, Largo Police and Naval Sea Cadets received the American flag from Congressman C.W. Bill Young and local fire fighter Nolan Marshall sang the national anthem. Purple Heart recipient, Jake Gauthier, United States Marine Corps, presented the American flag to John B. Goodman, Chairman of The Goodman Group, as part of the dedication.Plaza

Following the dedication, The Palms of Largo residents, families, friends, associates and the greater Largo community enjoyed a buffet lunch and featured events such as a petting zoo, balloon art, face painting, military museum representation, caricature artist, interactive arts and crafts, pottery wheel demonstration, watercolor art display and painting, butterfly garden, roving magician, stilt walkers and a barber shop quartet.

“The Plaza is a beautiful gathering area that allows the Largo community to come together to visit and enjoy the daily events” states Regional Director of Sales and Marketing Bob Delle Donne with The Goodman Group. “We thank all of the residents, family members, friends, associates and community partners who joined us for the celebration.”

The Plaza is a dynamic area that offers a new gathering area and will host an array of activities to serve all generations and generations to come. One of the programs offered at The Palms of Largo is the Valiant Veterans Program. This program is offered through Life Enrichment and is welcome to Veterans and their spouses, friends and family members. The Plaza includes the Veterans Memorial and Ceremonial Lawn, which were created for veterans and others to remember those who gave the ultimate gift for our freedoms, to reconnect with those who served to secure and maintain our freedoms, and to reminisce about the times and sacrifices dedicated to preserve our freedoms. To visit The Plaza’s website, click here.
