CHASKA, MINN. (Nov. 7, 2025) – The Goodman Group, a recognized national leader in developing and managing senior living and health care communities, residential communities, and commercial properties, is proud to celebrate its 60^th anniversary in 2025. The Goodman Group’s portfolio spans 64 properties, providing homes and services for more than 10,000 residents and employment for more than 4,000 individuals across the nation.

The Goodman Group’s roots trace back to 1965, when Sidney A. Goodman founded SAGE Company (Sidney A. Goodman Enterprises) to buy and manage commercial and residential properties. While pursuing a business degree at the University of Minnesota, John Goodman, Sidney’s son, became active in the family real estate business in 1970, managing numerous apartment communities and developing a passion for creating new models for senior living and health care communities. During this time, he also established intergenerational programs that bring children and older adults together. In 2007, SAGE Company became The Goodman Group to better encompass its diverse portfolio.

In October, executive directors and directors of nursing from the managed senior living and health care communities joined members of The Goodman Group’s home office, along with business partners and sponsors, in Clearwater Beach, FL, to celebrate this milestone. The three-day event featured keynote speakers, leadership development insights, organizational updates, an awards ceremony and fellowship.

Based on the methods of Maria Montessori and as adapted for adults by Dr. Cameron Camp, founder of the Center for Applied Research in Dementia, this approach of care allows residents to focus on their individual strengths and engage in meaningful activities.
