River Commons Covid-19 Update

Thank you for understanding that all visitors and non-essential health care personnel are restricted from entering the community at this time.

We appreciate your continued support over the last few months. This is a difficult and complicated time and we appreciate you adhering to our new policies. We are excited to announce that we are offering the opportunity for controlled outside visits and window visits for residents. Please contact the front desk to arrange your visit.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve and change on almost a daily basis. Please know that we continue to receive updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and local and state health departments, in order to determine the best course of action to keep our residents safe.

If you have any specific questions or would like additional information, please reach out to our community. We will continue to keep residents, families and staff informed of any positive tests for COVID-19.

Our preventative measures include, and are not limited to, the following:

  • During this time, it is especially important that residents stay connected with family, friends and the greater community. We will continue to support the use of technology and alternative ways to visit with residents such as Skype, FaceTime, phone calls and email. Please call  to schedule a time to talk with a resident.
  • Residents to practice social distancing, mask wearing and frequent hand washing.
  • Essential visitors and essential health care personnel should enter through the main door and our community will actively screen and take temperatures to ensure they meet CDC guidelines.
  • Internal and external resident activity groups have been canceled but we are offering digital and virtual group interactions when technology is available.
  • Communal dining has been addressed for safe social distancing such as appropriate spacing in dining rooms, dining in apartment home or take away options.
  • Transportation services have been reduced to essential appointments only.
  • We are continuing to screen all staff as they enter the community per CDC guidelines including taking temperatures and we are instructing them to stay home if they are sick.
  • Staff are required to wearing appropriate personal protective equipment while at work.

We will continue to take the proper steps to safeguard our community and place the health and safety of our residents and staff above all else. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our community.

All essential visitors and essential health care personnel must:

  • Check in at the front desk for a screening per CDC guidelines.
  • Clean your hands upon arrival and before leaving. We have sanitizer for your convenience and use.
  • Always cover your cough. Use a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze.
  • Clean your hands after coughing or sneezing.

Looking for a way to help?

Nationwide, there are shortages of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like face masks, gloves, and disinfectant wipes. These items help to keep healthcare workers healthy and enhance their safety as they are the front-line fighters against COVID-19. Our community is a registered drop-off site.
